The Degreening Process

The degreening process varies, taking anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on factors like algae levels, leaves in the pool, and the efficiency of your pool’s filtration system. Here’s how it generally goes:

1. Initial Assessment: On the first visit, our technician will assess your pool. If the equipment is functioning well, they’ll super chlorinate the water to eliminate algae and contaminants.
2. Water Level: Please ensure the pool is as full as possible, even above the skimmer if you can. This helps us move faster as vacuuming debris will lower the water level.
3. Second Visit: We check if the pool maintains high chlorine levels. If so, and the water is grey or milky blue, we either use flock to settle the cloudiness or rely on your filters to clear the water.
4. Third Visit and Beyond: If the water is clear, we’ll vacuum all debris from the bottom. These steps may be repeated depending on how your pool responds to each treatment.

Top 5 Important Reminders

Along with the degreening process, here are five crucial points to remember:

• It’s hard to predict our arrival time due to varying cleaning durations for each pool.
• You don’t need to be present during our visit as we usually work in the backyard.
• Ensure your pool has the right water level, ideally halfway up the skimmer or two inches from the top.
• Ensure clear access to both the pool and its equipment.
• Keep any aggressive pets away from the pool area during our visit.
